Today, I’m here for a TVC production for our Lancôme’s most innovative product – Genifique Youth Activator. With the use of the sophisticated Lancôme makeup products and the revolutionary skin care product Genifique, the model’s skin becomes more radiant, refined and rejuvenated. It is a flawless skin that every women are worth to have!

After the TVC production, I have to catch my time to another TV station for a makeup demo of the Lancôme Noel Collection. It is my honor to present the Lancôme latest makeup trend and share the beauty tips with the Lancôme fans and the makeup lovers in my hometown – Hong Kong.

One day in my life…

1.      Early morning before work

- Grooming is an essential part of my daily routine as I represents the brand and I have to look the best at all times.

- I have been a Lancôme user for 22 years and I cannot live without Genifique and Absolue nuit. The reason everyone comment I don’t look my age is because I believe in a good skincare routine everyday.

2.      During Work

- My daily work mainly revolves around PR and media events as well as consumer workshop. When I conduct a consumer workshop, I love to share my make-up skills and tips and being able to transform a woman beautifully through my advice is a great satisfaction.

- Aside from doing PR, Media events and workshops, I work a lot with our local celebrities and country royalty.

-  My current favourite make-up must have is our Teint Miracle.

3.      Inspirations

- My inspiration for my work comes naturally as I love the brand a lot and everyday I hope I am able to contribute more and more to the brand to make the brand more well known and loved by women all over the country.

At beginning, I just a simple BA likes anyone else. Learn the skincare knowledge, to cultivate and do the phone call to customers. Many days pass, clients told me I did a good makeup for them. The compliments give me much confidence.
What’s job I do most often?

I love to share my makeup experience to people who interest in. Every time when I do the podium, I feel so content~
Love to recommend the best product to people. Teach them the correct makeup knowledge.
Love to answer people who have questions about makeup.
If you ask~ do I love my job?
Absolutely~ I do!!

I learn a lot of skills in Lancôme. That’s I never dream about. How I appreciate that I can join this great company.
However it’s a pity that people in Taiwan think about Lancôme is only expert in skincare.
Being a national makeup artist for 2 years, I want to let the women in Taiwan know that Lancôme is also great in makeup, not only in skincare~ this a difficult mission I need to reach!

Then I travel around Taiwan to promote Lancôme’s makeup. Only one conviction-this is my aspiration and I want it to be real.

I have always been a busy person and love to be around people, so I guess I picked the perfect profession.

My role at Lancôme can be very exciting as in my 5 years as National Make-up artist, I have met some fantastic people including celebrities like supermodel Gisele Bunchden, where I was her make-up Artist during her Australian visit in 2007 and then Juliette Binoche in 2009. But regardless of what the persons status is, I love educating all women on the application of make-up. I find it rewarding when my clients are so happy with not only the end result of the make-up look but learning tips along the way, it gives them a new found confidence.

The versatility of my role is what excites me as I can be in a training room one day educating the Australian make-up team and beauty advisors for Lancôme, to backstage at a major fashion show the next! I am very lucky that I have had so many great experiences with the Australian media by being a part of many different shoots, backstage shows, quoted in many publications and applied make-up to many designers, personalities and international celebrities. 

These events I mentioned are extremely motivating and rewarding as a make-up artist and the fact that Lancôme support so many amazing fashion events globally is very encouraging to know I work for a very fashion forward, modern brand even if Lancôme is 75 years young!
I use the motivation from these events to motivate my local make-up team which they also enjoy assisting as I involve my local team in as many events and PR opportunities as possible so they will grow further as artists with these experiences behind them.

Another part of my role is working in Australian department stores conducting make-up lessons to Lancôme clients, either in a ‘one on one’ scenario or a group ‘master class’ session. This is the best way for myself to understand the needs of women in the market which is so important to meet their make-up needs. I also use all my extra knowledge and tips from the fun backstage events I work on and give this exciting information to my clients, so they feel they can also be a make-up artist and modernize their make-up look that adds confidence to each individual I touch. I often mention the high calibre Australian designers, personalities and publications I have been quoted in, as this adds to my expertise and my clients all enjoy knowing they have had a lesson with someone who is honest, educational and working professionally as a make-up artist.

I enjoy this role as I get to travel alot, create fun make-up looks for the everyday woman to models at a fashion show, conduct training schools to share my thoughts on the art of make-up and more importantly do something that I love which is to make people happy through make-up. Lancôme has given me opportunities that any make-up artist would cherish and I am looking forward to my new adventures in make-up artistry at Lancôme.

The life of a make-up artist is like living life in the fast lane.  It takes a lot of flexibility, imagination and requires the ability to listen, because a LOT can come from listening.  I’d say the best part of my job is that I get to meet people from all different walks of life, from celebrities and world renowned models 
to people from all around the globe.  I love that I get to travel and see so many different parts of the world, but the best perk of the job is all the fabulous parties I get to attend. 

It’s hard to pin point a downside but the long hours can be a trying at times.  I’m very organized when it comes to shoots, so the night before a shoot I like to ensure that my brushes are cleaned and everything is laid out with all the looks put together. If a call time is 7AM, I’m up by 4AM!! Therefore it’s essential for me to have everything set the night before, I guess that’s why I’m always the first on set!

During a shoot, I like to do a quick Q & A with the models, before I start their make-up.  I like to ensure the look is a team effort and make sure everyone has some input especially the photographer.  We all 
work hand in hand.

My favorite and most memorable shoot I have done was a recent 12 page spread with Elle magazine.  The team is always so warm and welcoming– they make you feel right at home.  A happy worker does give the best results!

In terms of the model I found most enjoyable to work with, I would have to say Mandira Bedi.  She was delightful to work with and to this day we remain in touch.  As I mentioned, having the opportunity to meet such wonderful people is a huge perk of my job. 



A day of Stafford at a POS.



The day begins  with a quick brief with the Beauty Advisors at the POS. I get to know the number of appointments for the day and whether we have any elite Lancome customers coming that day.

After making my rounds at the POS  to check everything is in order I begin the animation with my first customer’s Makeup Consultation using  the Expert Consultation Guide. My day continues with back to back makeup appointments and  mingling with my clients and getting to know there concerns.

On a day that there is no animation I make my rounds to the different POS and do my routine coaching sessions. I coaching on Makeup skills, product knowledge and reflex pro. During breaks of training  I interact with customers and help out with their needs and concerns  and help increase revenue at that POS.

In the morning I welcome our course participants. All participants are brim with enthusiasm with our training center. Also I am enthusiast every day by the vibrancy of our training centre and I am very proud to work here.

After introducing I give them an understanding of the philosophy and of the history of Lancôme.

After that I demonstrate on a voluntary participant, step by step:

• the perfect cleansing of the face
• the foundation, suitably to the skin type
• the concealer
• the powder after the powder, I show them
• the eye shadow
• the lipstick and
• the blusher

After the presentation the participants remove their make up and try one another, what they learnt.

To see their enthusiasm of our make-up is awesome every time.

My Love, my inspiration:

In general my big love go to the eyes, because the eyes are the reflect of the soul of every woman. Every woman has wonderful eyes, and the advantages should be accentuated.

I also love to use the products differently from their intended use: like eye shadow as a blusher or as a lipstick.

My favourite: perfect but natural teint with sophisticated eyes. Pointing the lips without overloading then with colour.

Lancôme is my professional love, I can identify very well with Lancôme: modern and trendy!
Always new products, an indescridable colour variety, a great Maquillage range, and quite new, “Trèsor in Love“. A sprinkling love.
